What are the benefits of babywearing

KINDNESS
Body contact and closeness promote your baby’s self-confidence. Carrying them reassures and provides a sense of security.

DEVELOPMENT
Physiological babywearing supports sensory development, particularly by stimulating touch and the vestibular system.

CONNECTION
Babywearing fosters and strengthens the parent-child attachment bond through shared moments.
Why choose to carry baby
Physiological carrying is a natural transition for a newborn. After spending nine months in their mother’s womb, continuously rocked and held by her movements and heartbeat, the transition to the outside world can be overwhelming.
Skin-to-skin contact helps babies adapt to their new environment. Physiological carrying replicates the conditions they experienced in utero, allowing them to navigate this new world safely and at eye level.
Carrying also meets your baby's instinctual needs: they are held, listened to, and acknowledged. A silent communication develops between the carrying parent and the baby, as well as with their surroundings. Mastering physiological carrying can help guide your baby through this significant transition.
What are the benefits of physiological babywearing?
Physiological carrying benefits both baby and parent. It’s ideal for creating a strong bond, aiding development, and providing daily comfort.
-
It respects your baby’s natural posture, similar to their position in the womb.
-
It prevents plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome.
-
It meets the baby’s need for closeness and allows parents to better recognize their baby's body language.
-
It helps relieve discomfort from burping, reflux, colic, teething, etc. It acts as a natural pain reliever.
-
It stimulates and promotes your baby’s motor skills development.
-
It helps build and strengthen the parent-child attachment bond, assisting fathers in finding their role.
-
It facilitates breastfeeding by stimulating and maintaining lactation due to prolonged skin-to-skin contact.
-
It promotes good posture for parents by distributing weight evenly, protecting the pelvic floor, and helping strengthen muscles.
Why participate in a babywearing workshop with nasama?
Learning babywearing techniques solely through online tutorials may not ensure proper methods. Hands-on instruction is essential for mastering safe and comfortable carrying techniques and integrating them smoothly into daily life.
Nasama’s carrying workshops teach you to carry your baby safely. With our guidance, you will learn how to position your baby according to both their body type and yours. Our workshops take into account your baby's motor skills development and your daily needs.
We also collaborate with health and early childhood professionals. Nasama travels to the Pays de Gex, Haute-Savoie, from Vulbens to Valleiry, and into neighboring Switzerland in the Geneva canton.
